Johor Bahru Malaysia One Day Trip from Singapore

Mrupupup went on a day trip to Johor Bahru from Singapore. Johor Bahru which is in Malaysia is located next door to Singapore and needs one to cross the Causeway to clear immigration. Really enjoyed the day trip to Johor Bahru because things were cheaper due to the favourable exchange rate of the Singapore dollar against the Malaysia currency Ringgit. Do changed your Singapore dollars to Malaysian Ringgit in Singapore for the rate is better at SGP $1 to $2.51 Ringgit (estimated).  Once you cross the Causeway in Johor Bahru and the rate is lower at $2.442 Ringgit. Mrupupup took the bus from Woodlands Bus Interchange - Bus Stop 950 and the bus stop had a lot of people and need to wait at least 20 mins.





Cross the Causeway Bridge in the Bus - do expect traffic jams of an 1 hour as many people want to go to Johor Bahru even on a weekday


Mrupupup spent the whole day at one shopping centre which was near to immigration 'City Square' shopping mall  located at Jalan Wong Ah Fook, which recently had a renovation and there were many shops like MANGO, Cathay cinema, Baskin Robbins Ice Cream, sport shops, Popular book store and many more.

Ate for lunch at the Chicken Rice Store at City Square Shopping Mall, Johor Bahru

Very nice modern shops at City Square Mall with Christmas deco- JB

Watched a movie at Cathay Cinema for $7 MYR per ticket (half price of Singapore movie theatres) and do go on a Wednesday for the $7 MYR ticket price. The Cathay cinema located at level 5 was clean and modern with decent sound system.


Tea break at Old Town Coffee City Square Mall- JB for prawns noodles, coffee, cold drink and kaya bread






Dinner at Kenny Rogers- City Square Mall - about $24 MYR for a meal of half chicken




Nice Kenny Rogers Muffin

Bought Bread and Pastries from a shop named Lavender- Just missed out on their Harajuku Bread.





We had Baskins Robbins Ice Cream for $7.50 MYR each (two scoops per cone!). Had two cones!
Do wear 'pink' accessories and you get a better ice cream deal on Wednesdays!

Caramel and Royale Chocolate scoops!


Very nice 1 day trip to Johor Bahru and Mrupupup would be going again!

Baker Talent - Very new bakery!

Mrupupup spotted a new bakery in the Serangoon Central area (Singapore). Baker Talent Bakery is located in Blk 261 Serangoon Central and bakes a certain type of bread with butter or blueberry in the middle. When Mrupupup order the breads, the taste was nice and soft. The breads are on promotion now, where got bread in Singapore sell for 60 cents, very cheap. Baker Talent also has many new flavours - peanut, tuna, custard, custard egg (very nice when eaten hot!), polo bread. etc. The Bakers are talented to make nice and cheap bread.

Trip to Seoul - Incheon Airport food court

Mrupupup went to Seoul, South Korea. It was a great trip. I loved Seoul after since the K-wave swept through our TV screens. Many things to see in South Korea. Here goes the trip day 1. Landed in Seoul transit via Kuala Lumpur. The airport in Seoul is pretty clean place. You can check out the eating place 'Food on Air' that serves decent Korean food at good prices. Go to the basement level of the arrival hall of the airport. The basement food court of Incheon Airport served a nice set of dumplings and bibimbap for late breakfast or lunch. Pretty nice and hot food after a long flight.
