Most Like Photo Revealed for Singapore's first Community Generated Story

MOST LIKED PHOTOS REVEALED FOR SINGAPORE’S FIRST COMMUNITY GENERATED STORY USING INSTAGRAM AND VINE
***
Over 3,000 photos and videos of DBS Marina Regatta 2013 posted on popular social media platforms over two weekends

DBS Bank revealed the three most liked photos of Singapore’s first community generated story using Instagram and Vine, held during the DBS Marina Regatta 2013 which were posted on popular social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram, Vine and Twitter. Phoneographers demonstrated their mobile photography and videography skills on a wide variety of subjects at Singapore’s biggest water sports festival which spanned two weekends, starting with the Dragon Boat Races from 18-19 May, and concluding with the Bay Festival on 24-25 May 2013.

Phoneographers had the opportunity to capture exciting races where more than 130 international and local teams paddled against one another in the waters of Marina Bay. They also recorded festival-goers taking part in fun-filled land and water activities, a dazzling display of cosplay as well as rousing drum performances and concerts by popular local artists. Over the two weekends, over 3,000 photos and videos were uploaded, and the three most liked photos were decided by the total number of likes via the social media platforms.

The winners of the most liked photos are:

·         @a_ego
·         @mrupupup (Mrupupup won!)
·         @cassquek

These three contributors with the most liked photos have each won a degustation dining experience for two, worth  $600, at Restaurant ANDRE – Singapore's best restaurant, as listed in The World’s 50 Best Restaurants 2013. (Yeah, Mrupupup will blog about the food at Restaurant Andre!)

DBS Marina Regatta 2013 came to a close after two weekends of exciting dragon boating races which attracted top national teams from the region, as well as teams from schools, clubs and the community. Keeping to its promise of bringing people to the bay and the bay to the people, around 1,000 members of the public had the opportunity to experience for themselves the fun of dragon boating, kayaking and sailing free of charge on the final day of the event.

DBS Marina Regatta 2013 also hosted Singapore’s first phoneography awards where athletes, crew and spectators captured the excitement of the festival over the two weekends through mobile photography and videography. Winners from the various categories are:

·         Most vibrant shot of the festival – @tiakchoon
·         Most emotive portrayal of participants – @dk99
·         Most inclusive shot of social enterprises – @mrupupup (Mrupupup also won at this category)
·         Most sporting shot of the races – @lioneldude
·         Best effects – @xiaodiwong
·         Best Vine video – @anna-hamill

In another first for the local social media scene, DBS developed a user-generated content (UCG) campaign, pulling photos and videos posted on the social media platforms into a video that told the story of DBS Marina Regatta 2013 from different points of view. The compiled UCG video story was unveiled at the Bay Festival on May 25.
