SET at POMO Comtemporary Value Set Meals

Mrupupup went for a nice food session at SET located in POMO Mall at 1 Selegie Road #02-01 (next to TCC outlet). SET recently opened in August 2014 and the owners were formerly from TAO's eating place formerly located at POMO also.

SET restaurant offers contemporary cuisine, and comes in set lunch and set dinner menu. Prices range from around $28.80++ for 5 course and $38.80++ for 6 course meal. Pretty good value for the 6 course set meal which came with chef starter dish, side dish, soup, cold dish, one main course and dessert. You have a choice of 3 to 5 items for main course, soup and dessert sections.

Mrupupup had Chef Starter (which change regularly) of foie gras with red wine (pretty good!), cold dish of smoked duck, tomato caprese, Huai San Carpaccio (a kind of Chinese Yam), Salmon Gravlax. SET created fusion of Chinese and Western style to come up with the interesting cold dishes. Mrupupup liked the all the cold dishes.

For the side dish, Mrupupup had the King Oyster Mushroom which came in Ying Yang type of plates. Pretty good mushrooms with the truffle foam at the side!

Mrupupup tried out the Mushroom soup which interestingly came with Peanut Butter (wow pretty good) and Miso Soup that had a touch of Japanese Sake wine. SET is pretty cool with all these fusion concepts. The miso soup was interestingly unique with sake taste (you would not get drunk though!) and the peanut butter in mushroom soup - never knew can add peanut butter!

For the main course, Mrupupup tried the Roasted Chicken Pullet and the Roasted Beef Tenderloin.  The Roasted Chicken and Beef Tenderloin main course were yummy! If got extra budget, you can try the Baby Back Ribs (pretty tender and good). Mrupupup had a small portion of the ribs and it just melts in the mouth type once your place in your mouth.

Well, the best part of the SET meal was the desserts. As it was food tasting session, Mrupupup had the privilege to try out all the desserts - Espresso Crème Brulee, Pistachio Panna Cotta, Poached Pear with Gelato Ice Cream and Huai San Jello. All were good Desserts!!! Mrupupup had an extra helping of the Espresso Crème Brulee. The desserts were made with a nice touch and Mrupupup found the Huai San Jello pretty interesting good like Cocktail Jelly but higher end version. For each SET comes with one dessert, so do try your favourite.

Ambience wise, SET restaurant has many booth seats and rooms available. The place was nice and cosy and you would feel comfortable having your SET meals.

Ok, Mrupupup got to focus on my desserts from SET!

Thanks to the good folks from SET and PR agency for the yummy meal.
