The food experience is great and the location is great with a nice view of Marina Waterfront area. Mrupupup kind of late to introduce Soi 19 Thai Wanton Noodles. Think many people would have known of this wanton noodle store. Soi 19 awesome Thai wanton noodles was awesomely yummy. Every day this outlet got queue. The one Mrupupup tried was at Blk 151 Ang Mo Kio Avenue 5 and they got outlets in Jurong and a newer outlet at Upper Serangoon Shopping Centre. Mrupupup tried the noodles costing $5 with extra noodle and extra stuff/ingredients. Love this noodles why ? Springy noodles, lots of pig fat, good char siew, Taiwan sausages added to the noodles was the best part of the dish (always eat this last for Mrupupup!). One can order $4 and $6 versions. not sure why it is Thai style as Mrupupup never had Thai Wanton noodles in Bangkok during vacation and could not find any of such stores. Pretty yummy and good. Westlake Restaurant Singapore

Image
Westlake Restaurant is one of the old-school restaurant in Singapore with lots of traditional Chinese dishes. Mrupupup was at Westlake over the weekday evening (please don't go on a weekend because got many people).  Food here is a pretty good especially its signature dish - Kong Bak Pau (braised pork with buns). Braised Pork with Pau ($13) was yummy!! Westlake is synonymous with Kong Bak Bao. Taste-wise, it was a yummy and 'melt in the mouth' pork meats with hot buns. The crisp lettuce was good to bland in the salty taste of the braised sauce and meats. Westlake Steamed Beancurd ($10) was an interesting find for dinner. Coins of smooth and plain beancurd were topped with a shrimp ball, dotted with a small amount of salted egg yolk, and in a starchy egg-drop gravy. This dish was done very well with a delicate and clear touch. Hokkien Mee in claypot ($7) was a value for money dish with lots of noodles and ingredients like squid, prawns and pork. Two persons took some tim

Image
Mrupupup attended a wedding banquet at TungLok Signatures located at Orchard Parade Hotel. The wedding banquet venue at TungLok was the smaller venue with about 20 tables. Some tables were located in rooms which blocked the view of the bride and groom giving their thank you speech. The dishes served for the wedding banquet were pretty traditional fare: - Cold dish with about five items like jellyfish, duck meat, spring rolls, roast meat, prawns with melon - Shark's fin soup which came with lots of shark's fin (oh no! better don't tell those animal environmental nature protectors! - Scallops with broccoli (loved the big chunks of scallops) - Roasted chicken: seems like not roasted enough - Mushrooms with vegetables and sea cucumber which was good and yummy - Steamed fish which maybe a bit over cooked but nice - Yam rice which Mrupupup thought was not nice and not warm. Can skip this dish. - Dessert with Chinese red date, bird's nest and Aloe Vera which was the

Canton Paradise Chinese Food Yummy

Image
Mrupupup went to the Canton Paradise for a late Chinese food dinner. Well, since it was a late dinner (around 8.30pm) at Canton Paradise located at Basement 1 of Star Vista Mall (1 Vista Exchange Green #B1-45), Mrupupup ordered a few yummy dishes. Mrupupup had the awesome goodness of the egg yolk 'liu sa' bun with its famously ooosshing yellow filling coming out of the bun. The yummy egg yolk taste with the hot bun was a perfect match. Mrupupup also ordered the prawn fritters in a basket which was yummy fried food. When one visits the Canton Paradise, you need to order their nice noodles. Mrupupup had the yummy thin noodles in a soup and came with juicy pork slices (roasted pork!). The combination of roasted pork and the noodles was delicious! Mrupupup was totally satisfied with the meal. The meals at Canton Paradise were yummy and costs were reasonable (range from $4 for small dishes and about $8 for the noodles). The place also sells porridge and various types of dim sum

A-ONE Claypot House at Nex - yummy porridge and claypot rice

A-One Claypot House was a very nice experience for those who loved to eat porridge. Mrupupup ordered their porridge filled with shellfish and fish maw. It was simply yummy porridge! Mrupupup enjoyed the taste of the porridge, seems to taste like those yummy porridge one can eat in Hong Kong. Mrupupup  also ordered their claypot chicken rice which was also delicious with lots of ingredients like chicken, chinese sausage, chestnut, mushroom, vegetables and salted fish. If one wants hot food, do try A-One porridge and claypot rice. Mrupupup went to the A-One Outlet at Nex Mall #B1-73/74 near to the Japanese food street corner. The porridge was pricy at around $12-$13 because of the fish maw and shell fish ingredients, while the claypot rice was relatively cheaper at around $8.90. Well, as their name says it, the food was A1 indeed! Lots of fish maw and shellfish   Yummy chicken claypot rice

If you don't know, the Hong Kong's Tim Ho Wan has a one Michelin star. Well, Mrupupup went to eat at the outlet in Dhoby Ghaut Plaza Singapore #01-29A (Orchard Road). Mrupupup had all four heavenly dishes which include the famous and Mrupupup's favourite 1) Char siew Bun, 2) carrot cake, 3) rice vermicelli with liver and 4) the steam cake. Also had their eggy porridge, glutinous rice, steam pork balls, siew mai (with pork) and their prawn roll (ha gao). Mrupupup loved it. The prices range from $4 to $6 per dish. Mrupupup went to the Ah Koi's Kitchen at Traders Hotel Singapore to try out their crab dishes. Traders Hotel is located at 1A Cuscaden Road (Tanglin area). Wow, Ah Hoi's Kitchen crab dishes were fantastic and yummy! Mrupupup on a warm evening tried out the fried Cereal Crab, Crab Bee Hoon noodles in pot and Crab with Black Pepper sauce. Out of the crabs served, Mrupupup loved the Crabs with Bee Hoon Noodles because one could taste the sweet Sri Lankan crab meat served with the yummy soup. Situated next to poolside of Trader's Hotel, Ah Hoi's Kitchen provides a relaxing place to dine in. This quiet setting allows Mrupupup to really appreciate the meal. The waiters were friendly. However, the place was very warm! Extremely warm and uncomfortable if you were wearing a nice long short or pretty dress to dine at Ah Hoi's Kitchen. Mrupupup even took a picture of an industrial size fan in the r
